2018 had been an absolute eye opener, rollercoaster, and just an utter wild ride. The one year anniversary of my fathers passing came, and I requested the day off work to go ski. It was an amazing powder day, with no one on the mountain but me and my girl. I laughed and teared up on the chairlifts. I managed to work for another couple months but the seed had already been planted. I was planning on Thailand in July with a friend, but I ended up quitting my job and planned the trip for four times as long as I had originally thought.
And absolutely nothing went as planned. Southeast Asia was absolutely breathtaking and eye opening. I came home for a week of camping on the beautiful PNW coast and two days of Dave Matthews and then went back across the world for a month down under, sleeping in my trusty Lenny the Land Rover with a spirit so near and dear to my heart. Coming home was one of the hardest things I’ve had to do, but when it was to move to Mammoth, things became clear and simple. Surrounded by beauty and some rad souls, it’s easy to see just how lucky I am.
I can’t even put into words what this year has been. But I feel alive and awake each and every day. I’m happy to be here and even happier I get to share it with some amazing souls.
Love and light to everyone going into this new year. May this be the best one yet.
